So - question - does anyone else here have the inability to focus with both eyes at the same time? #audhd #neurodivergent #audhdwomen #adhd #autism #weirdeffects
@thepamcakez Sort of, but for me it’s more of an intermittent squint (eye turn-out). I do a bit of DIY vision therapy exercise for it, Tetris with the red/blue glasses. And I def notice my ADHD symptoms get more manageable when I do my exercise regularly. I never even knew vision stuff was related to ADHD til I read René Brooks’s blog post about vertical heterophoria.
@squirreledagain that’s pretty interesting. I had the same pediatric eye doctor till I was 27 and he finally retired. I was diagnosed with adhd at 23 and maybe 4 years before that I had asked him about this very thing with my vision - thinking it was an eye problem. His answer was that my brain only focuses one eye at a time. Looking back - he was always a bit of an odd duck and I’m almost 1000% certain he too was neurodivergent in some flavor or two. Also - looking back - how that wasn’t the first sign that I was different neurologically/nd in some capacity I’ll never understand but it probably should’ve been.
@thepamcakez Me. I never knew the full-time second images were uncommon until I was in my 30s and an observant eye doctor tested me for exophoria.
@jinx nice to know there’s a term for it.
