A few days ago, I went to Chirk Castle and saw this three-century-old cedar of Lebanon. It had been very badly damaged in a heavy blizzard the winter before last; the top third of the tree was snapped off (and turned into a bench, just out of shot).

But for all its difficulties, it is still alive. It is still producing rich green foliage. The old man lives yet.

@RolloTreadway my brain just went "What, you went to Chirk???", and then it remembered that you were back visiting family. Sigh.
